Turing Tumble

learning goals: basics of the logical structure of computers

supported skills: logical thinking and problem-solving skills

Group size
  • 2 - 4 pupils
  • The Turing Tumble is a special marble run. Whenever a blue or red marble arrives at the bottom, a new blue or red marble is released at the top.
  • With special ramps, deflectors and collectors for the marbles you can build something like a mechanical logic computer.
Picture of Schools

will be added in due course, as soon as pictures are available

In Turing Tumble, logical structures in computer science can be presented in a playful way. The video shows an OR-gate. If one of the blue bits is true (points to the right), it is stopped with a blue marble, otherwise with a red one.
