Lemon battery

• 4 x lemos
• 4 x copper nails
• 4 x tin nails
• several cables
• 1 x LED

• 2 - 4 children

Schedule

• With the help of the supervising person, the children build up the lemon battery and then test it with the aid of the light-emitting diode (LED).

• Specific questions of electrical conductivity and the mode of operation of the experiment are explained in a child-friendly way.

Conductivity test with a small homemade circuit

Material

• 1x 9 V-battery pack
• 1x breadboard
• 4 wires with stripped ends
• 1x LED with series resistor
• battery clips
• 1x screwdriver

Supervisor

• 1 - 2 persons

Group size

• 5 - 10 children

Schedule

• Task distribution and subsequent explanation of the worksheet.

• Structure of the circuit with appropriate assistance, if necessary.

• Independent testing of the conductivity of various materials, from the pencil case of the children, with the help of the circuit.

• The results of the experiment are then noted on the worksheet and then evaluated with the group.
