Honored by the Association of German Engineers Magdeburg
On October 8, 2022, the historic Art Nouveau hall of the Dorint Herrenkrug Parkhotel Magdeburg was the setting for this year's 27th Festival of Technology - the Ball of the Engineers of Saxony-Anhalt. A highlight of the evening was the honoring of three personalities by the VDI Magdeburg district association, which was introduced by a beam show.
Prof. Georg Rose, member of the board of the research campus STIMULATE and head of the chair for medical telematics and medical technology at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, was awarded the Gruson badge of honor of the VDI for his successful forward-looking interdisciplinary research activities in the field of medical technology. Klemens Gutmann (2nd from right), chairman of the VDI Saxony-Anhalt regional association, kept the arc of the laudation exciting until Prof. Rose (center) was presented with the prize. Prof. Jens Strackeljan (l.), Rector of Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, also congratulated and presented a "Grusoni" cactus named after Hermann Gruson.
Just this year, Prof. Rose, together with a consortium of partners from industry and science, again succeeded in acquiring a project in the federal funding program "T!Raum", which is funded by the BMBF with up to 2 million euros per year for nine years. The goal of Magdeburg's T!Raum initiative, transPORT, is to develop an eco-center with science, high-tech business, and especially living and well-being ("W4"). The scientific and economic focus is to be on medical technology. For more information, visit the transPORT website.
